Welcome to The Beacon Health Group
The Partnership of Drs McAllister, Plate, Hunt, Brock, Dollery, Amin & Mrs L Hunt
Managing Partner: Mrs S Young
The Beacon Health Group Partnership operates over three sites. The main site (Danbury Medical Centre) is based in Danbury. We have two branch sites, Mountbatten House Surgery (based in North Springfield) and Moulsham Lodge Surgery (based in central Chelmsford). Across all sites we have 17 GPs, 1 Emergency Paramedic, 1 Clinical Pharmacist, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 8 Practice Nurses and 4 Health Care Assistants providing appointments. Danbury Medical Centre has always been an accredited GP training practice and now we are pleased to receive the endorsement for us to extend this facility over to our Springfield site too. The partnership have applied to gain trainer endorsement for their third practice based at Moulsham Lodge.
The Beacon Health Group is now able to offer our patients a wider variety of services ranging from chronic disease clinics to minor surgery services (performed within the new purpose built Minor Surgery Suite based at Danbury). We also provide Friday extended morning appointments between 7.00am-8.00am, Monday and Wednesday evening appointments between 6.30pm-8.00pm provided by GPs and Nurses.
Patients now have the flexibility to choose the location they wish to visit and the appointment time they wish to attend. Patients will also have a greater choice of clinician operating from both sites. With our patients at the forefront of every decision made, the Beacon Health Group offers further value to the health of our existing patients an also that of new patients coming to the area.
INTEGRATION OF ALL THREE BEACON HEALTH GROUP PRACTICES
Following the departure of two of our Partners, Dr David Forbes and Dr Elizabeth Murphy from the Moulsham Lodge practice, we continue to provide GP services in line with our GMS contract to the patients registered at Moulsham Lodge. Dr Patricia McAllister and Dr Robert Plate, along with Dr Alex Bradford will continue to provide GP appointments within core operating hours and also extended hours on a Wednesday evening.
Our collaboration with Dr Forbes and Dr Murphy since January 2018 has been very rewarding and we look forward to continuing the good relationships we have built with all staff based at this site. We wish Dr Forbes and Dr Murphy a very happy and healthy retirement from the Moulsham Lodge Surgery.
We are experiencing a slight delay with the integration of the clinical system across all three sites due to IT formalities but this will not affect the operation or provision of services for any of our patients registered at any of the three sites.

Patient Notice - Extended Access
Part of the GP Forward View is a requirement for practices in all Clinical Commissioning Group areas to provide Extended Access to all of their residents. This is a service commissioned by Mid Essex CCG. Appointments under the Extended Access scheme would be available Monday to Friday 6.30pm-8.00pm as well as Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
The Beacon Health Group submitted a business case to the Mid Essex CCG to provide this service but this was unfortunately unsuccessful. The successful bidder, as chosen by the CCG, is a practice based in Colne Valley who will be providing the Extended Access to all practices within Mid Essex CCG.
We welcomed BBC Essex Radio to the Beacon Health Group in celebration of 70 years of the NHS

We are very proud to be part of something great!

Who can see my health record?
To treat you safely and well, it is important that professionals you see can access your health record. Only by letting your GP surgery know it is ok will your notes be available to be seen by other professionals such as hospital clinicians or district nurses.
How do I make my record available to health professionals?
Simple. Click on icon below, print off the form and hand it into the Reception Team. There are two ways that this sharing can happen and it’s important you understand what they are so you can make the right decision for you.
